Studies On The Factors Of Affecting Yield And Quality Of Cucumber Seeds

Cucumber is one of the most important vegetable crops in our country,the annual seed yield of cucumber is about 600 thousands kg.Its seed quality directly affects the interests of many farmers,affects the stability of the vegetable market,thereby affects the interests of all consumers.In order to ensure the quality and yield of cucumber seeds,we must try to find out the effect factors on the seed yield and quality,so as to take appropriate measures to ensure the smooth production of seeds.In this test we studied the main factors which affected the yield and quality of seed.We used two cucumber inbred lines to study the effect factors.The main research results were as follows:1.The main factors affecting the seed number of single fruit were the life force of female and the time of pollination.In flowering day,the life was the most powerful,l days after the sharp decline in the life force of male and female was found.Pollination time was better from 8 to 11 in the morning,9 o'clock was the best.Under the condition of greenhouse,the pollination had another better time at 16 o'clock.When corollas were hypertrophy and their color was bright yellow,the male and female flowers had good quality.The first fruit had less seeds.The seed number of single fruit was related to the length of fruit which had seeds,and the longer the length,the more the seeds.2.The fruit number was majorly related to plant growth.Fertilization level affected plant growth.In the medium fertility level,75kg NPK compound fertilizer under the condition of 666.7 m2 soil was best for plant growths.When plant growth was too fast,the fruit number was less.Plant diseases and insect pests affected plant growth,and thus affected the fruit number.3.The seed size was related to fruit weight and fruit maturity.The larger the fruit size was,the more the seed length,seed width,and seed weight were.When the fruits were more than 500g,no changes were found in the size of the seed.When the fruits were fully mature,the seeds had large thickness,and its weight was large.Immature seeds due to imperfect seed accumulation of nutrients,although the seed length and width had reached the maximum,but the thickness was little,the seed was not full,its weight was low,seed quality was poor.When the immature fruits were stored,their nutrient materials would stransfer to seeds,thus the seed thickness increased,seed weight increased,seed quality improved.The seed number of single fruit did not affect the size of the seed.When the fruits were at below 10 node,the seeds were with high quality.4.Isolation distance between two materials affected the seed purity.The more distance between the two varieties,the higher the seed purity.The general isolation distance was not less than 500 m.When we used gauze to isolate different materials to have hybrid,the longer the time of gauze service was,the lower the seed purity was.Generally we used the gauze net not more than 3 years.5.The seed life was rated to water content of seed in storage.When the seed moisture content was 8%,the seed life was about 3 years.When the water content was 10%,the seed life was only two years.
