Rabbit industry plays an important role in China grains saving animal husbandry.Increasing the reproductive rate of the females is crucial to the development of the rabbit industry.Light has a significant impact on the reproductive performance of animals,and LED light source is now widely used in a variety of animal researches,while there is rare report about the application of LED light source to improve the reproductive performance of rabbit.In order to improve the efficiency of Chinese large-scale meat rabbit breeding,this experiment uses LED to explore the appropriate light conditions of improving the reproductive performance of multiparous female rabbits.Give the results as follows.1.The investigation of the effects of LED light color on reproductive performance and serum hormone levels in female rabbits.250 rabbits are randomly divided into 5 groups on average and fed under the LED light condition of white,red,yellow,blue and green respectively.Results show that the pregnancy rate and weaning pups/100 does are significantly increased in red light and yellow light conditions(P<0.05);The levels of serum hormones in female rabbits show a decreasing trend of melatonin levels in all groups(P<0.01),and both FSH and estradiol show an arising trend before insemination.The serum melatonin levels of the red and green groups are significantly lower than those of the white light group before insemination(P<0.05).The serum follicle-stimulating hormone levels of the green group and the serum estradiol levels of the red group rabbits are significantly higher(P<0.05).2.The optimization of suitable light conditions of lactating rabbits.225 rabbits are randomly divided into 15 groups on average and fed under the combination conditions of the white,red,yellow,blue and green 5 kinds of light color and 60 lux,80 lux,100 lux 3 kinds of light intensity respectively.Results show that light color and light intensity is no significant interaction(P>0.05).In a separate comparison of light color,the red group has comparative advantages especially on improving reproductive performance of lactating female rabbits' pregnancy rate and weaning pups/100 does over others,and there is a significant difference in other groups from the blue group(P<0.05).In a separate comparison of light intensity,results show that pregnancy rate and weaning pups/100 does are the highest in illumination value for the 60 lux environment,and there is a significant difference from that in 80 lux.3.The optimization of suitable light conditions of nonpregnant rabbits.150 rabbits are randomly divided into 15 groups on average and fed under the combination conditions of the white,red,yellow,blue and green 5 kinds of light color and 60 lux,80 lux,100 lux 3 kinds of light intensity respectively.Results show that light color and light intensity is no significant interaction(P>0.05).In a separate comparison of light color,the green group is higher than others in terms of pregnancy rate,the number of born alive and weaning pups/100 does.The number of born alive and weaning pups/100 does are significantly heightened in yellow group(P<0.05).In a separate comparison of light intensity,the 100 lux group takes the dominant position pregnancy rate and weaning pups/100 does,and there is a significant difference from that in 80 lux(P<0.05).To sum up,under the LED red light and illumination of 60 lux,the reproductive performance of the lactating rabbits is the best;under the LED green light and illumination of 100 lux,the reproductive performance of nonpregnant rabbits is the best.
