The flowers of Caryophyllaceae Dianthus L. are not only resistant to drought, which have abundant color and long flowering period, but have high ornamental value, long green period and other advantages. Therefore, for the present situation of water scarcity in Shanxi Province, the test based on four different Dianthus L. plants is to analyze the difference in drought resistance between the four plants, which in order to screen out the germplasm plant owing high drought resistance and high ornamental value, so as to better satisfy the current landscaping demand for saving water and labor, improving beautiful landscape application. Therefore, it has important significance to evaluate and analyze the drought resistance of Dianthus L. plants, which could indicate a clear mechanism of their physiology for drought resistance, so as to provide a theoretical basis on the drought tolerant germplasm breeding and excellent drought resistance genes in Dianthus L. plants.1. In this experiment, four different plants of Caryophyllaceae Dianthus L. (Dianthus plumarius, Dianthus superbus L., Dianthus barbatus L. Dianthus chinensis L.) are the materials, which experience water stress on the seedling stage, using the natural water stress, analyzing the drought resistance of each plant by observing morphological indexes, tracking change from the level of morphological;2. Under water stress, seven indicators are measured include soil water content, SOD activity, soluble protein content, MDA content, proline content, chlorophyll content and leaf water content at different times, using the Subordinate Function Analysis to evaluate the drought resistance comprehensively. The results showed that the drought resistance in four different plants of Dianthus in the order:Dianthus plumarius> Dianthus superbus L.> Dianthus barbatus L.> Dianthus chinensis L.;3. Under water stress, the expression of DtSOD and DtPOD genus associated with drought in four different types of Dianthus L. are detected by using the qRT-PCR. The results show that with the increasing extent of water stress, DtSOD and DtPOD genes are closely related to drought resistance in Dianthus L.4. The text has identified drought resistance in four different Dianthus L. plants through three aspects, such as pattern level, physiological level and molecular level, which could provide some reference for drought study in other plants of Dianthus L.
