Microscopic examination, modified agglutination test (MAT), indirect hemagglutination (IHA), enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) were performed to investigate gastrointestinal parasites infection, Toxoplasma gondii infection, Chlamydia abortus infection, Q fever infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep in parts of Gansu. And ELISA was used to investigate the prevalence of Babesia bigemina infection in yaks in Gansu.The results as below:That the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasite infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep were 39.56% (290/733) and 57.29% (377/658), respectively. The prevalence of T. gondii infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep were 20%(122/611) and 20.3% (352/1732), respectively. The results showed that the prevalence of C. abortus infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep were 25.08%(153/610) and (18.65%) (323/1732), respectively. The prevalence of Coxiella burnetii in yaks and Tibetan sheep were 13.59% (75/552) and 14.39% (304/2112), respectively. The prevalence of B. bigemina infection in yaks was 22.33% (11/200).The objective of the present investigation was to determine the prevalence of main parasites and two infectious diseases infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep in Gansu China. These data should provide base-line information for the execution of control strategies against the diseases infection in yaks and Tibetan sheep in Gansu province and elsewhere in China.
