In order to understand the resistance characteristics and the distribution of virulence genes of enterococcus, provide the basis for the treatment and prevention of enterococcal infections diseases, in the study enterococci isolated from healthy swine and PEDV diseased swine, and we detecting the drug resistance and virulence genes of these strains.1. In the study, there are all separated 115 enterococci isolates, it contains 59 E.faecium isolates,11 E.faecalis isolates, and 45 other enterococci isolates.72 of 115 (30 E.faecium,2 E.faecalis and 40 other enterococci)enterococci isolates was isolated from healthy swine.43 of 115(29 E.faecium,9 E.faecalis and 5 other enterococci) enterococci isolates was isolated from the PEDV diseased swine.2. Using K-B method to detect the resistant phenotype of the 115 enterococci isolates and detect the resistance genes by PCR. The results showed:the enterococci isolated from healthy swine most sensitive to high concentrations of gentamicin was 93.06%, followed teicoplanin and chloramphenicol, sensitive rates were 81.94% and 65.28%. The 43 strains isolated from PEDV diseased swine to tetracycline, erythromycin, cefalotin these three antibiotics completely insensitive, except glycopeptide antibiotics and ampicillin, the other drugs were lower sensitive rate than healthy swine enterococci.115 enterococci isolates the multidrug-resistant phenomenon were seriously,98.3% enterococci isolates were more than triple or triple resistance to 14 kinds of antibiotics, the strains isolated from PEDV diseased swine were more heavy resistant to the enterococci isolated from healthy swine. All E. faecalis have more than six heavy and six heavy resistance, the multidrug-resistance was most serious. The resistance test results show that swine enterococci have been resistant to multiple antibiotics, especially to tetracycline and erythromycin, almost all resistant. The detection rate of drug resistance genes were as follows:tetM(69.6%)N Aac(6)’/aph(2") (62.6%)、aph(3)’-III(70.4%). ant(6)’-I (60%), ermB(58.2%)、 mefA(0.9%)、VanB (0.9%), VanA and VanC gene was not detected. Analyze the drug resistance of enterococcus by resistance phenotypes and genes, we found the resistance phenotype is not entirely consistent with the resistance gene.3.Using PCR method to detect the virulence genes of the 115 enterococci isolates, there have detected 9 kind of virulence gene in total, respectively cylA, ace, esp, hyl, asal, efaA, gelE, EF0591 and EF3314. The results show that the strains isolated from healthy swine aslo have virulence gene, but its a lower amount, the detection rate were less than 16% of each gene. The detection rate of four farms virulence genes are quite different, farm C have the most detection rate, then farm B have no detection rate, it may be related to feeding and management of the farm or enterococcus virulence genes were differ between different regions. The strains isolated from PEDV swine have a higher detection rate to the strains isolated from healthy swine. E. faecalis have carrying amount more virulence genes than other enterococci.
