Recently,peat due to over exploitation as an important component of cultivation media for floriculture matrix,is subjected to increasingly scarcity of natural resources,and the market demand of peat isgreat,while the cost of peat depend on import is increasingly improved.Therefore the study on the replacement of peat has a strong need.An increasingly research on its alternatives has become improvement,but,these studies on substitution matrix are difficult to achieve the objective have a scale to produce so that peat application couldn’t be able to market.In this paper,bamboo powder and biochar produced by bamboo is as a test material,a pot experiment in the greenhouse is installed as followed five treatments,the control original peat substrate ratio(P0),35%bamboo powder substitute peat substrate(PZ1),55%bamboo powder substitute peat substrate(PZ2),75%bamboo powder substitute peat substrate(PZ3),35%biochar substitute peat substrate(PB1).This test is to study the influence of the part peat substrate by bamboo powder and biochar substitute for medium nutrient and the growth and nutrient absorption of osmanthus fragrans(Thunb.)Lour.and hydrangea macrophylla.The results are listed as follows:(1)Effect of different bamboo powder and bamboo biochar substitute peat treatments on the physical and chemical properties of matrix.Before osmanthus and hydrangea transplanting,matrix bulk density total porosity,pH and EC between different treatments were no significant difference after being substitute part of the peat by bamboo powder and biochar.There is an increasing trend for matrix aeration porosity,gas-water ratio by different proportions of alternative treatments bamboo powder compared with control treatment(PO),while the water holding pores is lower,and matrix aeration porosity,gas-water ratio for 35%biochar alternative treatments was significantly higher than any other treatments.The available phosphorus,potassium content can be increased by different rate of bamboo powder substitute substrates compared with PO,the content of total nitrogen of original matrix is the highest in all treatments,followed by 35%biochar alternative.After osmanthus and hydrangea harvest,the matrix pH and available phosphorus has a little increased before transplanting,while the EC and K is decreased.But there was no significant difference for total nitrogen content before transplanting,and matrix pH,EC have no significant difference among all treatments.Compared with the original matrix,the matrix available K and phosphorus can be significantly improved by different proportions of bamboo powder and biochar alternatives.(2)Effect of different bamboo powder and bamboo biochar substitute peat treatments on osmanthus growth.Early cultivation in greenhouse osmanthus growth is fastest for PO treatment,osmanthus height growth advantage for PB1 is not obvious in the first month,is significantly higher from the beginning of the second month,and the rate of growth in height is the fastest in all treatemnts.Different proportions of bamboo powder matrix alternative had no significant effect on plant height of osmanthus in seedling stage,35%bamboo powder matrix treatment has obvious advantages compared with 55%,75%alternative matrix.Before transplanting,osmanthus stem diameter was not significant in the first two months,then the proportion of bamboo powder alternative treatments in stem diameter is greater than PO and PB treatment,the case is on the contrary in the transplanting 90 days,which is on the harvest period.In terms of nutrient absorption ofosmanthus,total phosphorus,total potassium for all treatments has no difference,while total nitrogen uptake for PO and PB treatment were significantly higher than the proportion of bamboo powder alternative matrix treatments.Therefore,the control and 35%biochar alternative treatments for the growth of osmanthus have most advantages,while bamboo powder different alternative treatments have disvantage in osmanthus seedling growth.(3)Effect of different bamboo powder and bamboo biochar substitute peat treatments on hydrangea growth.Throughout the whole test period,hydrangea plant height,stem diameter,leaf length,leaf width have an upward trend and the whole of hydrangea growth is slow,there is no significant difference between the various treatments.Before transplanting in the first two months,hydrangea chlorophyll content,germination for PB1 treatment are significantly lower than the other four treatments,but are significantly higher than PO and different proportions bamboo powder substitute in the following periods.In hydrangea plant nutrient uptake,from total nitrogen absorption of view,the treatment of PZ2 and PZ3 are significantly lower than PO treatment,while PZ1 and PB1 treatment was not significantly different;the content of plants total phosphorus,total potassium for each treatment was not significantly different.In terms of plant nutrient absorption maximum volume,control and 35%biochar alternative treatment are higher than any other treatment,especially,35%,55%bamboo powder alternative treatments are better than 75%bamboo powder.The growth of osmanthus for controls and 35%biochar alternative treatments is the most advantage than any other treatments,35%bamboo powder alternative matrix treatments is followed.
