As one of the important food crops in China,Broomcorn millet has a long cultivation history,is the feeding crops of Chinese people,is also an important source of the special crop and food diversification in northwest China,and plays an irreplaceable role in the adjustment of planting structure.Smut is an important disease in the production of Broomcorn millet,and its incidence area is very wide,resulting in severe loss of Broomcorn millet Production,and resulting in losses.In practice production,relying solely on the prevention of chemical control is not effective to reduce the loss and harm caused by smut,from the long-term and sustainable perspective,breeding excellent smut resistance varieties are fundamental,scientific means and methods.Test based on 311 resource for materials collected at home and abroad,combined with field trials and laboratory analysis,the identification of disease resistance,inspection of agronomic characters and measurement of chlorophyll content,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Among the 311 resources tested,the susceptible resources accounted for 74% of total resources,with few immunization and highly resistant resources,just 21.7% of total resources.Combined with agronomic characters and other indicators,16-2,16-47,16-88,16-108,16-109,16-143,16-280,8 immune resources were identified,16-276,16-278,16-85,16-265,16-305,16-112,16-116,16-6,16-228,16-267,16-266,16-146,16-61,13 highly resistant resources.In addition to,among tested resources,the resistance level of varieties in different parts of is also different,resources from Shaanxi,Gansu,Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia and Shanxi are distributed in all resistance level,resources from Jiling,Ningxia,Hebei and Liaoning distribution are concentrated in susceptible and high susceptible level.(2)After infection of smut,agronomic characters between infected plant and healthy plant difference is obviously different,compared to healthy plant,diseased plant height became shorter,stem diameter became smaller,stem nods increased,the branches increased obviously,and cluster of leafy was distinct,but the differences in tiller was samll.The grain shape of 311 resources mainly concentrated in small and medium grained level,accounted for 80%,only 1.35% big grain type,by around 18% of the special small grain type.Different disease-resistant resources have different 1000-grain weight,and the high-resistant varieties has bigger 1000-grain weight,reached 6.49 g;The 1000-grain weight of highly sensitive variety was smaller,only 5.82 g,while the remainder are in the range of 6.12 to 6.44 g.In terms of yield,the average yield of resistant resources was higher,and the average yield of immune-variety resources and high susceptible varieties was low.(3)In the same period,differences of chlorophyll content existed under differden resistance level resources,compared to infected plant,the differences was obvious by different resistance levels.As time went by,chlorophyll content of different resistance resources all showed decreasing tendency,compared to healthy plant,the infected plant was gentle,with the decline of resistance level,the decrease of chlorophyll increased,the highly infected resources had a bigger decrease.The chlorophyll content of infected plant was higher than healthy plant at the same resources.(4)The leaf angle under different levels of resistance is consistent with the law” leaf angle of flag leaf < leaf angle of the second leaf < leaf angle of the third leaf”.The angle of the same leaf position was different from the resistance level,and the angle of the same leaf position was decreased with the decrease of resistance level,compared to healthy plant,the same leaf position of the infected plant leaf angle was not obvious with the different resistance level.At the same leaf position,the leaf angle of healthy plant was larger than that of infected plants.(5)The test identified 311 varieties,combined with disease resistance and agronomic characters,we select 16-2,16-108,16-6,16-116,16-228 of the 5 varieties had high resistance,and had ideal agronomic characters,can be used directly;16-47,16-88,16-109,16-143,16-280,16-276,16-278,16-85,16-265,16-305,16-112,16-267,16-266,16-146,16-61,15 varieties had a high resistance,but agronomic and yield characters in less ideal,explored and utilized its high resistance capacity through late breeding process and work;16-36,16-115,16-24,16-111,16-56,16-16,these 7 varieties resistance is normal but agronomic traits and yield is outstanding can also be used for later breeding work.
