In recent years,the study of trace elements has become a hot spot.This study aimed to clarify the effect of Se on Cr???-induced damage in chicken liver:promote or inhibit.First of all,an acute animal experiment was conducted to determine the oral median lethal dose?LD50?of K2Cr2O7,which was 369mg/kg,and we chosed 6% LD50?22.14 mg/kg B.W.?as the toxic dose of the experiment.A total of 105 Hy-Line Brown chickens were randomly divided into seven groups,through drinking water for the poison.The ? group was the control group and treated with deionized water,group ? received K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?alone,group ? orally received both K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?and Na2SeO3?0.31 mg/kg/d B.W.?,group ? received both K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?and Na2SeO3?0.63 mg/kg/d B.W.?,group ? received both K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?and Na2SeO3?1.25 mg/kg/d B.W.?,group ? received both K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?and Na2SeO3?2.50 mg/kg/d B.W.?,group ? received both K2Cr2O7?22.14 mg/kg/d B.W.?and Na2SeO3?5 mg/kg/d B.W.?,each reagent continuous adding 42 days.At the 14 th,28th,and 42 nd days,we collect samples of liver to detect the levels of malondialdehyde?MDA?,glutathione?GSH?,superoxide dismutase?SOD?,Ca2+-ATPase,and mitochondrial membrane potential?MMP?and to observe the liver pathological sections.The results showed that Cr???could lead to the growth and development of chicken liver blocked,and pathological damage could be observed.Cr???increased MDA content and decreased GSH content,T-SOD activity,Ca2+-ATPase activity,and MMP,the difference was very significant?P <0.01?when compared with the control group.Meanwhile,Se co-treatment?0.31,0.63,and 1.25 mg/kg?reduced liver damage caused by Cr?VI?,reduced MDA content,increased the content of GSH,activity of T-SOD and Ca2+-ATPase,and increased the MMP,the addition of Se?0.63 mg/kg?showed the best effect.Adding 2.50 mg/kg and 5.00mg/kg Se could aggravate liver injury caused by Cr???,furtherly increased MDA content,decreased GSH content,T-SOD activity,Ca2+-ATPase activity and MMP.This study confirmed that a certain dose of K2Cr2O7 could cause liver damage,and Se supplementation of moderate dose inhibited this damage,while the excess selenium increased liver damage caused by Cr???.
