The Investigation On Gastrointestinal Parasites Of Police Dogs And Treatment Test In Tianjin

The intestinal parasitosis is a common disease affecting the health of police dogs,which not only brings heavy economic burden to the police dog base,but also seriously affects the work and health of employees.In order to prevent canine intestinal parasitic diseases,ensure the health of dogs and reduce parasite threats to employees,epidemiology of canine intestinal parasites in Tianjin Police Dog Base was investigated,which plays an important role in ensuring the normal work.In this paper,240 dog feces were detected by water precipitation and saturated saline flotation method to investigate the infection of intestinal parasites in Tianjin Police Dog Base.The anthelmintic effects of compound febantel tablets,Oxfendazole tablets and Ivermectin injection were tested.The results showed that 5 parasites including Toxocara canis,Toxascaris leomina,Isospora canis,Dipylidium caninum and Ancylostoma caninum were detected in the intestines of police dogs.The positive rate of Toxocara canis was 15.42%,which was the highest among these 5 parasites.The positive rates of the other 4 parasites were 7.92%,6.25%,4.58% and 4.17% respectively.The infection rates of police dogs intestinal parasites differed among Tianjin Police Dog Base.The infection rate of A police dog base was the highest,up to 38.16%.The infection rate of C police dog base was the lowest,about 19.44%.Different varieties of police dogs were sampled for inspection.The infection rate of intestinal parasites in malinois was the highest,reaching 43.48%.The infection rate of other kinds of canine intestinal parasite had little difference.The infection rates of intestinal parasites showed significant differences in different seasons.The infection rate was higher in summer and autumn,and lower in spring and winter.Data of anthelmintic treatments revealed that 3 kinds of common anthelmintic drugs selected in this experiment were different in anthelmintic effects.Ivermectin injection was used according to the drug's instruction,and had a good anthelmintic effect on Toxocara canis,Toxascaris leomina,and Ancylostoma caninum.Oxfendazole and compound febantel tablets had an obvious anthelmintic effect on Toxocara canis,Toxascaris leomina,Dipylidium caninum and Ancylostoma caninum.While all of these 3 drugs had no effect on Isospora canis.According to the anthelmintic effects and pharmaceutical prices,the best anthelmintic treatment was analysed.The prices of Ivermectin injection is the lowest in 3 kinds of drugs but Ivermectin has a narrow anthelmintic spectrum.Although the effect of compound Febantel tablets is good,but the cost is higher.Oxfendazole has a wide anthelmintic spectrum,good effects and an acceptable price.Therefore,Oxfendazole is advised to expel intestinal parasites in Tianjin Police Dog Base.
