With the implementation of the policy of transforming cropland into grassland,grass in captivity,forbidding herding and rotation grazing,the way of sheep feeding has changed from raising in free range to captive which makes the captive feeding as an important development direction of the sheep industry in Inner Mongolia and the western region.High feeding density,the limited space and the imperfect environmental control equipment leading to physiological and psychological health of the sheep have been seriously affected.Therefore,carrying out the real-time environment monitoring is one of the most important ways to ensure the health of the sheep and improve the welfare level of sheep breeding.In order to meet the requirement of intelligent monitoring and warning for the intensive breeding of sheep,a real-time monitoring system for the sheep habitat environment was designed in this paper.The system could realize the real-time monitoring of parameters,such as temperature,humidity and NH3 concentration,and upload data to remote server via WLAN.Then the data were analyzed,processed and displayed by upper computer in real-time.When the environmental parameters are not in the level of comfortable,the system will alarm automatically.The experiment showed that the system could realize the real-time monitoring and controlling of the environment in the sheep house and when the environmental conditions deteriorate,the system alarmed automatically.
