This paper focused on Larix gmelinii in virgin forest of Great Khingan Range in Inner Mongolia and conducted structural feature analysis on the research object by using inspected data of permanent sample plots. After introducing the operation procedures of software SVS on visualization of standing forest, analysis on the graphs can be acquired.1.The distribution of entire forest stand and main component tree species, which are Larix gmelinii and Betula platyphylla turned from clumped distribution to random distrinbution as their spatial scale and the increasing of diameter class. The interspecific association between Larix gmelinii and Betula platyphylla is negative correlation;the interspecies association between small diameter class and large diameter class is negative correlation. In general, relevancy tend to be uncorrelated as spatial scale increased.2.When dividing forest layers of the Larix gmelini primary forest, the forest stand can be classified into three different kinds:3,4 and 5 forest layers.According to IUFRO's law and traditional methods, forests can be divided into 3 or 4 forest layers.Significant variations exist when applying three different kinds of methods to investigate the numbers of forest layers, height of each layer, numbers of individual plant and stock,so obvious layer height cannot be acquired and therefore we believe forest layers of Larix gmelini virgin forest are dynamic and continuously.3.By employing SVS,we can create the individual tree model of Larix gmelini,Betula platyphylla and Populus davidiana, and presenting the forest stands directly and vividly with the help of visual images.Canopy density of each forest stand can also be calculated precisely by using SVS.
