Wuchuan County is located in the North of Yinshan,Inner Mongolia Yinshan, which is the main area of potato production.Drip irrigation plays an important role in this area.Similar to the other food productive areas in our country, irrational irrigation was found in order to get high yield recently.High irrigation rate not only result in greatly waste of limited local groundwater resources but also cause nitrate-N leaching, which seriously affect the agricultural production. In current study,a column experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of water and nitrogen on nitrogen balance of potato field. The effects of different farmers on the nitrogen balance of potato field were mainly studied. The aim of this study was mainly to explore the effects of irrigation, fertilization, nitrogen fertilizer varieties on N balance in potato fields. The main results are as follows:1.In this experiment, the treatment in urea added biochar has a maximum biomass, whereas treatment in single urea has minimum biomass.2.The average inorganic nitrogen residuals in soil at harvesting ranged from 18.1 to 21.3 mg per each column, which have no significant difference in different treatments.3.The study found that, with similar N rate, the greater the amount of water, the more the average leaching amount of inorganic nitrogen. With similar irrigation rate, the more the amount of nitrogen applied, the greater the average leaching amount of inorganic nitrogen. The farmers' practice have the highest inorganic N leaching of 42 mg per each column(44 kg/ha),while the optimized treatments have the lowest inorganic N leaching of 14 mg per each column(15 kg/ha).4.Analyzing soil N balance in different nitrogen fertilizer treatment,we found that urease inhibitor effectively inhibited nitrogen leaching and reduced inorganic N leaching.Urea added biochar efficiently slow nitrogen leaching in soil.Polymer coated urea, sulfur and polymer coated urea treatments have higher inorganic N leaching compared to other treatments.5.Overall,in soil the treatments in urea added urease inhibitor and biochar have a lower apparent N balance and higher N use efficiency under different irrigated conditions, which reduce inorganic N leaching and environmental risk.
