Research And Practice On Peony Landscaping In Jiangnan Traditional Gardens

Peony is an important part of Chinese traditional flower,which applies a lot in traditional garden in the south of the Yangtze River.The research of peony landscaping in the south of the Yangtze Riverbenefitsabsorption of peony landscapingin future and study of its essence,whichinfluences the applicationand development of peony in the south of the Yangtze River.In view of the unique geographical environment and historical culture in the south of the Yangtze River,the peony of landscaping is different inthis area compared with one in other regions.In order to have a more profound and comprehensive understanding to application of peony in the south of Yangtze River,this paper studied the history of peony,the history of peony in south of the Yangtze River,the factors affecting the development of peony in the south of the Yangtze River,the peony culture in the south of the Yangtze River.Based on the analysis of ancient and modern literature and on-the-spot investigation,the conclusion is stated as follows:(1)Basicallycombed the history of Chinese peony and the history of peony in the south of the Yangtze River,summarize the transfer process of the peony culture center in the south of the Yangtze River:Hangzhou-central Yue(Wu)-Linan-Jiangyin-Ningguo(Shanghai),and analyzes the influence of natural environment,social economy,history and culture in the south of Yangtze River to development of peony.(2)Based on historical documents and data,collected the peony spectrum related to peony in the south of Yangtze River.It appears that there are only two complete peony spectrums and three parts of preface.Compile peony species listfrom the relevant historical documents,investigatepeony planting in Shanghai,Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Anhui and other places,collect main cultivated varieties of peonybased on literature review and generalize the ancient peony resources in the south of the Yangtze River.This paper studies the peony planting technology in the south of Yangtze River based on Ji Nan’s masterpiece Peony Spectrum.Since peony verses,peony painting and peony decoration are closely related to the application of peony in garden,the author has also conduct study and collection.(3)Research the relationship between the peony and garden elements and analyze its landscape to sum up peony cultivation forms: flower-stand,flower beds,isolated planting,group planting and etc.The peony combined with rock flower-stand,surrounded the buildings by the peonyand other plants in peripheral configuration.Different collocation of plants and peony means different.(4)Based on the analysis of actual case,the landscape of peonyin traditional garden in the south of the Yangtze Riverregards the rock terrain as the carrier,the peony as the main body,surrounded by tall plant.Combined with the construction sketch,it not only provided excellent ornamental effect of peony landscape but also supply the grow environment which needed for peony.
