The grain drying is the basic link of the grain production process in our country, with the development of planting and harvesting machinery,the grain drying machinery is imminent. As an important energy consumption sector in agricultural machinery, it's under tremendous pressure in the energy-saving and emission reduction.At present, there is a widely range of grain drying machines on the market, and each of them behaves different in drying efficiency and pollution emission. Experts have put forward theories to assess energy consumption of a single grain drying system: Energy Analysis method and Exergy Analysis method. However, the method is still very rare to assess the energy consumption, emission and economic cost of the whole grain drying industry. In order to optimize the allocation of energy resources, reduce the energy consumption, control the pollution emissions and achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction, this paper proposed an assessment method of energy consumption, emission and cost of China grain drying industry based on LEAP(Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning System).Firstly, based on the analysis of equipment types, grain varieties and energy fuels of the China grain drying industry, the energy demand module and environment evaluation sub-module of LEAP platform are used to evaluate the energy consumption, emission and economic cost of China's grain drying industry. China Drying-LEAP model includes a base year (2013), a basic scenario (2013-2030) and two development scenarios(2013-2030).Secondly, through the analysis of the parameters needed for the evaluation of China Drying-LEAP model, this paper makes a lot of investigation and research on grain present situation, the number of grain dryer and its influencing factors, grain drying technology. Through the experiments on the pilot-scale combination of grain drying experimental platform for different food dryer energy consumption and emissions experiments, the reliability of the survey data is verified. Through the comparative analysis, the grain drying industry current situation data and the forecast model of the future development trend are obtained.Finally, we can get the energy consumption, pollution emission and economic cost of the China grain drying industry in the base year and various scenarios through parameter of benchmark, basic scenario and development scenario being set. Through the comprehensive evaluation of energy consumption, pollution emission and economic cost in the base year and each scenario, some reference can be provided for making the policy of China grain drying industry.
