The research of potato plant architecture is important pathway to obtain high yield.The ultimate objective of the relationship between plant architecture traits and planting density is to achieve the optimal planting density for different varieties with different plant architecture traits.The optimal planting density will be able to not only improve efficiency of field management,but also improve the yield and the optimal yield components.Two typical Late-maturity varieties Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain)and Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain)were used for planting density test.The indexes of plant architecture traits and the yield structure components of two varieties were measured.In addition,the dynamic changes of plant traits at different growth stages were analyzed and the correlation between plant architecture traits and the yield structure under different plant spacing were determined and analyzed.The results are as follows:1.From the seedling stage to the mature stage,the plant height,stem diameter,drooping angle and leaf angle of Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain)were increased by 52.6%,63.9%,32.2% and 34.7%,bend degree were decreased by 75.3%,internodes length were the largest in budding period stage(4.34cm),leaf area index were the largest in full-bloom stage(1.64).From the seedling stage to the mature stage,the plant height,stem diameter,drooping angle and leaf angle of Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain)were increased by 41.2%?46.9%?42.0% and 28.1%,bend degree were decreased by 72.2%,internodes length and leaf area index were the largest in full-bloom stage(4.41cm?1.20).2.The plant type traits of potato plants were different under the 30 cm planting density.Compared with the natural plant strain traits at full-bloom stage,the stem diameter of Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain)and Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain)density planted were increased by 25.6% and 37.1%,bend degree were increased by 39.1% and 17.7%,leaf area index were decreased significantly.3.Increasing the planting density can increase the plant height,bend degree and reduce the stem diameter,drooping angle and leaf angle to make the leaves more able to intercept light when under a range of planting densities(30-15 cm).Compared to Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain),the bend degree of Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain)was significantly increased.4.With the increase in plant spacing,the plant high,the plant internode length,the leaf bend degree and leaf area index were increased,and the stem diameter,the leaf drooping angle and leaf angle were decreased.The optimal planting density for varieties Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain)was 20 cm plant spacing and 25 cm for Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain).The present results indicated that the optimal planting density was 20 cm plant spacing for varieties Atlantic(uprush-leaf stain),which canopy structure was reasonable,and the marketable yield and plot yield showed higher.The optimal planting density was 25 cm plant spacing for varieties Gannongshu No.7(spreading-leaf stain),which canopy structure was reasonable,and the marketable yield and plot yield showed higher.
