| Plants in the natures are an indispensable part of our survival and also an inexhaustible source of inspiration in the art design.From a wide view of art design course,design practices that take plants as the subject have always been there.In various fields of art design,plants are one of the main topics being studied.From the direct application of patterns to modern design reassembly,the form of plants has provided valuable materials for human being.In the modern design context,plants can provide more pleasures for people.In the face of increasingly intense pollution of modern environment,more and more people are craving for greenery in busy lives,so our design concept,form and content have also changed.To analyze the form of succulents from the visual point is an approach for modern designers to carry out creative work.We analyzed leaves and stems of succulents from points,lines and planes,concluded their laws of shapes and demonstrated the diversification of succulent forms and the role of diversification in design.Firstly,correlated studies both at home and abroad about succulent forms were sorted out and the development history of succulent forms and the concept of visual forms were explained from two aspects.On this basis,the significance of analyzing succulents from the visual points was discussed.Secondly,the development and importance of plants in design at different stages were taken as the breakthrough point to analyze the morphological classification of succulents from the aspect of visual form elements and phytology.Thirdly,common varieties of succulents were analyzed.From the visual view,elements including point,line,plane,color,texture that influence the form of succulents were concluded to summary the structural laws of succulents’ geometric shape,so as to concludethe visual morphological characteristics of succulents.Finally,the design application of succulents was explored.With the geometric shape of succulents as the principle thing,to combine it with product design and conduct design practies about two-dimension patterns and three-dimension model products.It is hoped that the research of this topic can extend the development fields of succulents in the visual communication design.Researches about the beauty of succulent elements can provide theory basis and practice value for its innovation and apply forms that influence visual elements into design practices. |
