Pine wood nematode disease is the epidemic destroying disease of pines,which is also called the pine wilt disease.Its pathogen Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is internationally recognized as forestry biological quarantine object.Since found in China in 1982,the disease spread rapidly,and caused serious economical,ecological and societal losses to China.B.xylophilus as invasive species face the ecological environment is still well adapted to the environment and be able to demonstrate a high level of fertility is a basis for the invasion.We discussed the reproductive biology and the characteristics of ecology,which taken an important significance to control their fertility and invasion mechanisms.The study of species mating choice behavior of B.xylophilus and the interspecific mating choice behavior between B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus were carried out.The main results are as follows.The mating behavior features of B.xylophilus by long-time microscope video and repeated observation.The mating behavior of B.xylophilus could be divided into 4 different stages: searching,contacting,copulating and lingering stage.Showing different behavioral characteristics in different stages.Comparative study on the mating behavior and mating selection of B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus,the results show that mating process of B.xylophilus is longer than B.mucronatus,their both mating process differ at the time of different stages,but there was no difference in the behavior of different stages.Study on the species mate choice mechanism of B.xylophilus,Mating selection experiment and reproductive efficiency of virgin female,virgin male,mated female and mated male were determined.The results showed that the mating proces of mated female and mated male is the longest,significantly higher than the other system.Determination of its reproductive efficiency shows that with virgin female and virgin male mating system have the largest number of offspring,and the sex ratio(3.2±0.07)were significantly higher than other 3 system.Mated female and mated male mating system is at least of the offspring population number,the lowest reproductive efficiency of this system.Study on the interspecific mate choice mechanism of B.xylophilus.The attraction research between B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus showed that B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus of different species can attract each other,and different species of nematodes sex appeal is less than the between the same sex appeal.The interspecific hybridization between B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus,showed that B.xylophilus and B.mucronatu can be interspecific hybridization and there is a high degree of hybridization efficiency,and can produce fertile offspring.However,the interspecific hybridization bwreeding efficiency is lower than species mating of B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus.Select matching results display,When B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus exist at the same time,their preferred mating within a species,but in some special cases of that B.xylophilus and B.mucronatus were able to mate.
