Alfalfa production is significant to the sustainable development of animal husbandry. In view of the low utilization efficiency of water and fertilizer during alfalfa production,we carried out some in-situ tests on alfalfa irrigation frequency and fertilization method, which was on sandy soil in the shelter of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences(WAN Zhuang)International Hi-tech Industrial Park. Two irrigation treatments include:irrigation once a week(W1)and irrigation twice a week(W2);three fertilization methods include:one-time fertilization(F1),twice-fertilization(F2),and apply 80%fertilizer and 20%fulvic acid potassium twice(F3).During the experiment, studying the regularity of the water content of soil, plant morphology index, and biological yield under different irrigation frequency and fertilization method. The results showed as follows:(1)W2 treatment of soil water content in 5cm,10cm and 15cm soil layer was higher than W1 treatment, while in 20cm soil layer was less than W1 treatment.(2)The irrigation frequency and fertilization method have a significant effect on the first cut yield of alfalfa.Compared with W1,the yield of W2 treatment increased by 8.71%,significantly increased the height and stem diameter(p<0.01).Compared with F2,the yield of F3 treatment increased by 17.62%,significantly increased the stem diameter(p<0.01).The W2F3 treatment had the highest dry matter yield, which was 4392.66 kg/hm~2.(3)Compared with W1,the irrigation water use efficiency of W2 treatment increased by8.71%,and the partial factor productivity increased by 8.71%(p<0.01).W2 treatment significantly increased the dry mater of roots 0~5cm?5~10cm,and promoted the absorption of nutrients by crop;compared with F2,the irrigation water use efficiency of F3 treatment increased by 17.62%,and the partial factor productivity increased by 17.62%(p<0.01).F3 treatment promoted the growth of root and the absorption of water by crop.(4)The interaction of irrigation frequency and fertilization method had a significant effect on the stem-leaf ratio(P<0.05).The W1F1 treatment had the lowest stem-leaf ratio, and the best palatability, followed by W2F3 treatment.Comprehensive analysis of index such as yield, water and fertilizer use efficiency, and stem-leaf ratio,in the production of alfalfa on sandy soil, irrigation twice a week with fulvic acid potassium(W2F3)treatment has the best yield and water and fertilizer use efficiency.
