Diabetes Mellitus is the glucose,protein and lipid metabolic disorder syndrome caused by absolute or relative lack of insulin secretion,the basic characteristics of which is blood glucose increasing.Currently,diabetes has become globally prevalent disease,and is the third disease causing death following cancer and cardiovascular disease.At present,the medicine which can treat diabetes on the market are mainly chemical synthetic drugs,although the effect is significant in short-term,but often accompanied by varying degrees of side effects,such as cardiovascular disease,allergic reactions.It is very significant to find convenient,economic and safe means to prevent and treat the diabetes mellitus.Aralia chinensis is mainly distributing in Shanxi,Sichuan as well as central and south of Gansu,which is a typical medical plant in China.It is also distributing in Korea,Japan and Russia.A.chinensis is a traditional Chinese herb used in medicine.At present,A.chinensis mainly applies to the treatment of heart disease,anti-inflammatory pain treatment,rheumatism,hepatoprotective and anti-tumor and other diseases both at home and abroad.However,research on A.chinensis hypoglycemic is still rare so far,and for A.chinensis polysaccharides hypoglycemic studies have not been reported.In this study,to observe the hypoglycemic effect of A.chinensis in experimental diabetic model rats was induced by alloxan,The main results were shown as follows:1.Aqueous extract of A.chinensis could reduce the level of FBG,HbAlc and increase INS in diabetic rats,The levels of TC,TG were lower than those of the model control,HDL increased significantly,increase the SOD vitality and decrease the MDA content of liver significantly,Moreover,it could increase the spleen index and thymus index.Aqueous extract of A.chinensis are effective ways to improve the metabolism of lipids and blood glucose in DM rats.2.To observe the crude polysaccharides from A.chinensis improve of blood sugar level in DM rats.0.5 g/kg/d ACP can significantly reduce the FBG and HbAlc levels of diabetic mice,decrease TG value and TC value in serum,increase HDL,while LDL value changed little.The ACP are effective ways to improve metabolism of lipids and blood glucose in DM rats.3.The total saponin from A.chinensis was poured into rats stomach for 28 days,The SAC can reduce HbAlc value and FBG value in DM rat,decrease TG value and TC value serum.The effection that SAC significantly decreases the blood glucose level,improves the lipid metabolic disorders.The above experimental results showed that the ability to decreases the blood glucose level,improves the lipid metabolic disorders of ACP is stronger than aqueous extract of A.chinensis and SAC.
