Using Physiologic Anchorage Spee’s-wire System Technique In Closed Deep Bite Treatment

Objective:To observe correction process of the closed deep bite case using physiologic anchorage Spee’s-wire system(PASS)technique,and flat bite plate to control the overbite and axis of incisors.Materials and Methods:A female patient was selected from Dalian Ortho Clinic in March 2014,who was 24-years-old,Han nationality,with a ClassⅠmalocclusion and a skeletal class II combined with deep overbite.This Patient in the permanent tooth with basic facial symmetry.There was a steep curve of Spee,mandibular retraction and convex profile.Moderate crowding of upper arch and mild crowding of lower arch.The maxillary lip-opposite low canines teeth are obvious.The second premolar of lower left is missing.After making a clinical examination of the paiem,analyzing the model and cephalometric,we extracted her two third molars and three first premolars and used PASS technique.Hard and soft tissue cephalometric changes were observed before and after treatment.Result:The coupe of orthodontic treatment is 22 months.Comparing the changes between pre-treatment and post-treatment:The overbite have been noticeably changed.The anterior teeth were intruded and the axis of them were normal values.The patient were satisfiedwith the result of the therapy after treatment.Conclusion:The adult deep overbite patient were effectively rectified by using PASS fixed technique and flat bite platen.
