1 ObjectiveBy observating the effect on balance disorders by acupuncturing T10-L2 Governor Meridian acupoints and Huatuojiaji points to treat those patient with Stroke, the author tries to conduct accurate evaluations of acupuncture therapy,including the functional recovery before and after those treatments,to approach an efficient acupuncturing solution to improve balance function, the moter function of lower extremitiesand ability of daily life,to discuss acupuncture at meridian action mechanism for the treatment and to offer theoretical basis in clinical treatment.2 Method60 cases of patients with stroke who agree and sign written informed consent are randomly divided into two group,one control group and one treatment group,30 cases in each group. All patients have drug therapy with reference to Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment Guidelines?Ministry of Health, Department of Disease Control, Chinese Medical Association Academy of Neurology,2005?,to control blood pressure,blood sugar and blood fat,prevent aggregation,and give symptomatic treatment,prevention of complication,nutritional support,and so on. The control group has therapies with conventional acupuncture?from the book of Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion edited by Liang Fanrong?and training on balance function.Treatment group is treated by acupuncturing T10-L2 Governor Meridian acupoints and Huatuojiaji points on the basis of conventional acupuncture combined rehabilitation theapy?Ctotrol group?. The patients received the treatment once a day, and six times a week for a course of treatment, the next day for the next course of treatment, four courses totally.Two groups of patients are assessed by one therapist in 1-2 day after admission date firstly,then the end of the forth week respectively. The evaluation items include:?1?using the Berg Balance Scale?BBS?to assess the patient's balance function;?2?using the stroke Patients Posture Assessment Scale?PASS? to assess the patient's posture control capabilities;?3?using the Modified Barthel Index?MBI? to assess the patient's activities of daily lives.According to the scores of the three items,we can be informed of the treatment effect.3 Results1.Within the control group before and after treatment comparison,there is a significant improvement statistically?p<0.05? in scores of BBS?PASS?MBI.2. Within the treatment group before and after treatment comparison,there is a significant difference statistically?p<0.01? in scores of BBS?PASS?MBI.3. Within the control group and the treatment group after treatment comparison,there is a significantdifference statistically?P<0.05?in scores of BBS?PASS?MBI.4 Conclusions1 The method of Conventional acupuncture combined with balanced training can improve balance function, the moter function of lower extremities and ability of daily life.2 The method of acupuncturing T10-L2 Governor Meridian acupoints and Huatuojiaji points can improve balance function, the moter function of lower extremities and ability of daily life evidently.
