This review provides an update on developments of IgA1 in the pathogenesis of Ig A nephropath, so as to offer a new thinking for the specific therapy of Ig A nephropathy. On the base of the induction and summary of the current documentary reviews at home and abroad, this review holds that Galactose-deficient IgA1 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of Ig AN. Recent studies have shown that circulating immune complexes which are composed of galactose-deficient IgA1(Gd-IgA1), Ig G anti-Gd-IgA1 antibodies, and soluble CD89 have been correlating closely with Ig AN progression. Accumulating evidence of mesangial deposition of circulating Gd-IgA1 immune complexes indicates that Ig AN is an immune complexmediated disease. |
