| Objective: To study the influence of dentition forms on the height measurement of alveolar bone in pantomography,paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique,and analyze the difference of the three methods on alveolar bone height measurement by comparing their results pair-wisely,so as to offer reference for clinical analysis.Method: Firstly,divide the experimental subjects into three groups as tapered,ovoid and square arch forms.Obtain graphs through the pantomography,paralleling and bisecting-angle techniques of the anterior region,premolar region and molar region of each group.Secondly,record the three measurements of the alveolar bone height of the same tooth at the same day and analyze the results with paired t-test method.Thirdly,analyze the three measurements of the same tooth with paired t-test method to see whether there are statistical differences and conclude their advantages respectively.Result: In the anterior region of the ovoid arch form,there are statistical differences between the pantomography and periapical radiograph;however,there are no statistical differences between paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.In the molar and premolar regions of the ovoid arch form,there are no statistical differences between the pantomography,paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.In the anterior and molar regions of the tapered arch form,there are statistical differences between the pantomography and periapical radiographs;however,there are no statistical differences between paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.In the premolar region of the tapered arch form,there are no statistical differences between the pantomography,paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.In the anterior and molar regions of the square arch form,there are statistical differences between the pantomography and periapical radiographs;however,there are no statistical differences between paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.In the premolar region of the square arch form,there are no statistical differences between the pantomography,paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique.Conclusion: In premolar regions of all three groups as tapered,ovoid and square arch forms,and molar region of the ovoid arch form group,there are no statistical differences between the pantomography,paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique therefore,all of them can be used for measurement of alveolar bone height of different dentition forms.In anterior regions of all three groups and molar region of square arch form and tapered arch form groups,there are statistical differences between the pantomography and periapical radiographs,however,there are no statistical differences between paralleling technique and bisecting angle technique,periapical radiographs are recommended for alveolar bone height measurement. |
