Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) is the mainstream in present elasticity imaging technology. It shows significant potential in medical diagnosis. Elastic wave driving mechanism and excitation methodology are the keys in MRE research. An efficient excitation device and a special incentive can increase conversion efficiency, and enhance the imaging result of MRE.This thesis contributed some valuable work in the aspects of elastic wave driver and excitations as follows:1. According to the principle of elasticity mechanics, the wave equation of elastic wave propagation in tissue is derived. The estimate wavelengths were compared with theoretical wavelengths by modeling and simulating the elastic wave propagation to verify the reliability of the MRE finite element simulation.2. An adsorption based pneumatic excitation device is designed. The laser displacement sensor was applied to detect the results with and without adsorption. Data acquisition card was used for data acquisition, transmission and storage. We established an MRE simulation platform to verify the effect of adsorption function. The results showed that the adsorption design realized a high efficient elastic wave driver.3. According to the characteristics of the elastic wave propagation in the transient elastography. the harmonic MRE imaging reconstruction algorithm cannot be used for transient MRE elasticity reconstruction. To overcome these problems, a novel algorithm for transient MRE reconstruction was designed by MATLAB. To compare the results from the transient MRE and the harmonic MRE, we demonstrated that transient MRE showed more advantages than harmonic MRE. This work has practical significance towards the research of MRE drive mechanism and the improvement of elasticity reconstruction algorithm.
