An increasing number of patients with hemiplegia were caused by nervous system damage in recent years. According to the related data, the number of the disabled in our country takes the first place in the world. The limb dysfunction patients cannot take care of themselves, their physical and mental have been suffering from torture, which not only makes the family under great psychological pressure, but also brings huge financial burden for themselves. Consequently, an efficient healing instrument is developed which makes the patients get rid of the torture of the sick and recover as soon as possible. For the individuals and society, this instrument has great realistic significance. However, the passive type of electrical stimulation therapy is widely used on the current domestic healing instrument market, patients are passively accepted some fixed forms of stimulations, such as triangular waves, sine waves, saw tooth waves and so on. These methods actually have a certain curative effect in a short period of time, but patients will have the habit of adaptation after a long time of use, so it is difficult to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. Although there are some of advanced foreign rehabilitative instruments having a better therapeutic effect, the cost of instruments can be prohibitive for the majority of patients. To against the problems mentioned above, this thesis designed a novel electronic pulse stimulator based on the surface electromyography. The multi-channel surface electromyography information obtained from different parts of healthy limb muscles was feed backed to the corresponding muscles of the diseased limb with the form of electrical simulation in real time, and made the diseased limb muscles to generate contraction and relaxation exercises as same as the healthy limb for healing training in order to gradually restore the function of diseased limb.To design a novel electronic pulse stimulator based on the theory of the mechanism and basic characteristics of the surface electromyography. In the stimulator, taking the STM32 microcontroller as the core, the front-end amplifier, filer and Potential uplift circuit were adopted to obtain the surface electromyography of healthy limb, the A/D module made it from analog to digital conversion, according to the amplitude level information of the surface electromyography from the healthy limb to control the pulse generating circuit to produce stimulation pulse similar to the envelop of the surface electromyography from the healthy limb amplified by the power amplifier circuit and provided with the amplitude intensity by the boost circuit, eventually with a certain amplitude intensity stimulation pulse via the output electrodes applied to the diseased limb. The results after test showed that the design could acquire and got surface electromyography of healthy limb in real time, and could be controlled to output the simulation pulse wave similar to the envelope of the surface electromyography from the healthy limb according to the amplitude level information of the surface electromyography from healthy limb, it also could control the pulse width and simulation strength effectively to meet the needs of different patients. The system of this design was simple, reliable, economical and practical, and had achieved the expected requirements of the design.
