Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of Straub Rotarex system in the treatment of lower limb ischemic disease.Method: Seventeen cases presenting with subacute, acute or chronic occlusion of lower-limb arteries treated with Straub Rotarex System,13 men and 4 woman,aged55-82 years, were included in this study, which included 5 iliac arteries,13 femoral arteries,8 popliteal arteries.Among them 9 cases were caused by atherosclerosis, and the 8 cases suffered from ectopia emboli.Instant efficiency was evaluated by angiography after the treatment of potary.Short-term curative effect was evaluated by ankle-brachial index(ABI)which measured respectively at 1day,2month after the treatment of potary and color-coded duplex sonography.Result:The technical success rate was 94.1%(16 of 17).1 patient was defined as recanalization with a residual stenosis >30%.The aspirated volume was on average about160 ml?The average hospital stay was 5 days?Ankle-brachial index increased from 0.34 ± 0.28 to 0.91 ± 0.19 at discharge and to 0.82 ± 0.17 after 2 month(P<0.05).There was a clinically significant improvement in the Rutherford stages(P<0.05),As complication was observed 1distal embolizations, which was successfully treated with aspiration by 6F guiding wire catheter. There were no groin hematomas, perforations, distal embolisms,AV fistulas or pseudoaneurysms. There were no amputations or deaths during the 2-month follow-up period. Conclusion:Rotarex Straub system through the removal of intravascular substan ces to achieve the therapeutic effect of vascular volume reduction,The safe and effective treatment of acute, subacute or chronic lower limb ischemic diseases caused by thrombus or intimal hyperplasia can be made, and the opening rate is improved, and the complication rate is reduced.
