Objective Head and neck tumors is based on anatomical position of the tumors division, Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of neoplastic diseases including tumors sinuses, throat, neck, and can be grown in all regions of the head and neck. Head and neck tumors etiology and diverse, difficult to diagnose, the method of treatment of the different types of tumors vary. Therefore, the identification of the nature of the tumor, diagnosed pathological examination, the next step would be to provide a correct treatment path. At present, for the determination of the nature of the tumor, it still depends on histopathological examination, based on morphological changes. Currently ultrasound-guided biopsy has been acquired in some important areas of expertise in clinical pathology at home and abroad, even in the breast, liver, kidney, thyroid tissue has been used as conventional means, is recognized as the best method of obtaining a tissue specimen outside the surgery. But the ultrasound-guided core needle in head and neck tumors is seldom used, this article will explore the application of ultrasound-guided core needle get head and neck tumor tissue for pathological examination to determine the pathological nature, as a routine means of assessing its ability to obtain pathology, summarizing the experience of this method, the clinical application of ultrasound-guided puncture provide experience and references. Methods 35 patients with head and neck tumors included in this study from August 2013 to August 2014 treatment at Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital of Medical College of Qiingdao University. Includes3 thyroid tumors、5 larynx tumors、9 hypopharynx tumors、2 sinus tumors、16 neck tumors, perfect neck CT or MRI examination after admission, platelet technology, blood clotting test, and assess the condition and to determine the mass position, with the patient and their family members carefully to account the whole biopsy operation process and all complications may occur, and try to let the patient and other members to understand ultrasound-guided biopsy of a patient’s own advantage, the pathological changes of diagnosis and subsequent treatment and the prognosis of help. Results 35 cases of patients by ultrasound guided coarse needle biopsy from 87, of which 84 needle from the organization for pathology examination, piercing out success rate was 96.6% (84/87). Follow the exact degree of pathology discipline boundary identification of pathological diagnosis class 6 grade, we only accept class 0 and 1 tissue samples, in this experiment,84 needles for pathologic examination in the organization of all conform to the pathological diagnosis of we accepted the exact degree of grading 100%(84/84). Pathological diagnosis results in 35 patients with 35 cases, diagnosis rate was 100%. Diagnosis for 32 cases of malignant, the proportion is 91.4%, diagnosis of benign lesions in 3 cases,8.6%. Malignant tumors is most common in squamous cell carcinoma, accounted for 90.6% of malignant lesions. Surgery with in 31 cases of 35 cases (13 cases of malignant and benign patients due to personal reason no surgery was performed),31 cases of biopsy guided by ultrasound compared with 31 cases of postoperative pathologic examination results, 29 cases of malignant change, diagnosis coincidence rate 100%; Diagnosis of benign lesions in 2 cases, the coincidence rate of 100%. Kappa value is 1, a complete consistency. Conclusion Ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy in the course of action to be monitored every step possible to avoid important organization, the location of the tumors accurately grasp visually needle procedure, all patients were successfully obtained histopathology, drawing success rate, in the same patients postoperative pathologic results are completely consistent, to meet the needs of the clinical diagnosis. Ultrasound guided coarse needle biopsy puncture operation time is short, the way is simple and low cost, less by pain. All the patients are not puncture complications occurred, the whole body disease did not increase occurs, the aggravating phenomenon occurred laryngeal obstruction in patients with no obstruction. All the patients are not puncture complications occurred, systemic disease did not increase occurs, laryngeal obstruction in patients with no obstruction aggravating phenomenon. Ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy in patients with head and neck cancer as an ideal alternative to obtain tissue pathology, is an easy and safe method for pathological diagnosis.
