Objective To evaluate clinical curative effect of using ETV to treat liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B by transient elastography and liver biopsy. In order to make clear whether the instantaneous elastic imaging techniques to evaluate the anti liver fibrosis treatment effect is practical, and if ETV antiviral therapy for 18 months can reverse the liver fibrosis in CHB patients. Methods In June 2013 to April 2014 in the third people's hospital of shenzhen, 27 patients diagnosed as chronic hepatitis B(CHB) who needed antiviral therapy and never received antiviral treatment before, all of them ate 0.5mg entecavir everyday for antiviral treatment, and received liver biopsy before antiviral treatment and antiviral treatment for 18 months respectively, At the same time, they received height, weight, Fibro Scan and serological examinations. Following up every 3 months, monitoring of patients with liver function, HBV DNA load and evaluate patients' psychological status. Twice pathological results and Fibro Scan, BMI, ALT, AST, PLT, HBV DNA load data were recorded for statistical analysis. Results For some reasons, only 14 people(52%) underwent the second time's liver biopsy. Fibro Scan and stage of liver fibrosis were well correlated, the Spearman correlation coefficient were 0.74(before the treatment)(P=0.001) and 0.86(after the treatment)(P=0.001). After 18 months of antiviral treatment, the value of ALT, AST, HBV DNA all declined. After treatment the Fibro Scan and APRI value were decreased obviously, the difference was statistically significant(t=3.891 P=0.001?t=3.261 P=0.003).Conclusion 1. Fibroscan can be used for quantitative evaluation of liver fibrosis degree, noninvasive and repeatable, so it is suitable for monitoring curative effect of treating liver fibrosis; 2. ETV antiviral therapy for 18 months can reduce the liver stiffness measurement of chronic hepatitis B.
