| Objective: To evaluate the feasibility, safety and practicability of a minimal skin incision under the cavity mirror approach by comparing it with a conventional transcervical approach for removal of the submandibular gland. Methods: Selected 25 cases of endoscopic submandibular gland patients and 25 cases selected traditional open surgery at the same period of operation time between Jan 2014 and Feb 2016 in Loudi Center Hospital, university of South China. Colected, compared and analyzed the operation time, incision length, bleeding volume in operation, the first-day of postoperative drainage volume, postoperative hospital stay, the in-patients costs, complication rates and the satisfaction rates of two groups.Results:1.the operation time of the endoscopic and traditional groups,respectively(58.32±3.24)minutes and(61.24±4.42)minutes, the difference of results showed no statistically significant(P >0.05);2.the bleeding volume of the endoscopic group(8.38±3.22)ml, the bleeding volume of the traditional open group(25.16 ± 4.05)ml,the difference of results showed significant statistically significant(P < 0.05);3.the postoperative drainage volume of the endoscopic and traditional groups, respectively(25.53±6.72)ml and(25.16±7.91)ml, the difference of results showed no statistically significant(P > 0.05);4.the incision length of the endoscopic and traditional groups, respectively(2.12±0.26)cm and(6.09±0.92)cm, the difference of results showed significant statistically significant(P < 0.05);5.the days of postoperative hospitalization of the endoscopic and traditional groups, respectively(5.28±0.67)d and(6.08±0.72)d, the difference of results showed significant statistically significant(P < 0.05);6.the hospitalization expenses of the endoscopic and traditional groups, respective( 11138.24±924.73) Yuan and( 10182.68±329.57) Yuan, the difference of results showed no statistically significant(P >0.05);7.Complications compared:Compare endoscopic group to traditional group, tongue numbness, incision pain were 5(20%)vs. 2(8%)(P >0.05), 18(72%) vs.21(84%)( P >0.05) respectively, the two sets of results showed no statistically significant difference. The satisfaction rate of postoperative scars in endoscopic group 96% was higher than the traditional group72%( P<0. 05)。Conclusion: Compared with traditional group, the incision of endoscopic group below in clavicle and no scar in neck,it has less bleeding volume and pain,no longer operation time, recovery faster and higher satisfaction in patients. |
