Objects: To explore the correlation between portions of wiry pulse and diseases. Methods: Referred to Classified Medical Records of Famous Physicians, we summarized related medical records about wiry pulse of 225 cases and 117 cases that wiry pulse was taken from three portions of Cun, Guan and Chi were selected. At the same time, 142 clinical cases of wiry pulse were collected. We carried out frequency analysis of pulse and symptoms with Microsoft Excel. And we transformed text data into number, which “1” represents appearance, or “0” was counted. All data were input into SPSS 20.0 for Regression Analysis. With Stepwise Regression we got the correlation between pulse and symptoms. And significant and correlated symptoms(significance<0.05) were remained, while uncorrelated symptoms were generally excluded. The standard coefficient obtained by regression was called regression coefficient, or correlation coefficient, which represents the correlation between symptoms and pulse. Results: The correlation data between wiry pulse taken from separate portions and diseases showed: wiry left Guan correlates most with quick temper(correlation coefficient of 0.336); wiry right Guan correlates most with poor appetite(CC of 0.299); wiry left Cun correlates most with restlessness(CC of 0.258); wiry right Cun most correlates with headache(CC of 0.513); wiry left Chi most correlates with low back pain(CC of 0.256); wiry right Chi most correlates with nocturnal emission, dizziness, cough and pain all over(with all CC of 0.425). The common symptoms in literature review conformed to those in clinical study that the frequency of pain ranked the highest, of 17.64% and 18.3% respectively. Conclusion: The obtained correlation between wiry pulse taken from different portions with symptoms follows the principle of that the upper portion indicates diseases in the upper part while the the lower portion the lower part. Whether the three portions are separately taken doesn't show significant difference. Clinical parts complement the sake of gynecological diseases, poor sleep and dreaminess which is of high operation.
