Objective:To offer the more effective therapy on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR), via comparing the clinical curative effect of eight confluence points combined jiaji electroacupuncture therapy and normal electroacupuncture therapy.Method:The sixty cases with CSR were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. All the patients were given the electroacupuncture therapy, in addition, the treatment group was given SI3(Hou xi) & BL62(Shen mai) and GB41(Zu lin qi) & SJ5(Wai guan) acupuncture therapy. Both groups received two courses. Each treatment course lasted 7 days including one 30m treatment per day, 6 times in total and one day off. After two completed treating courses, we used the indicators, which contained the PRI(pain rating index), VAS (visual analogue scale) and NDI(neck disability index), to evaluate and observe the change of symptoms, to compare with the performances before the treatment. The cervical vertebral functions were compared after all the treatments. Conclusively, the clinical effect assessment was systematically analyzed. Results:After two courses, comparing the treatment group and the control group:the degrees of PRI and VAS and NDI in both groups have a significant difference comparing to those of treatment before (P<0.01).After the treatment, the PRI and VAS in the treatment group compares with that in the control group(P< 0.05);the NDI in the treatment group compares with that in the control group(P< 0.05);the total effective rate of the treatment group compares to that of the control group(P> 0.05),but the curative rate of treatment group is better than the control group(P < 0.05),which indicates that both groups have a significant provident on the pain symptoms and cervical vertebra function and treatment group is superior to control group. Conclusion:Both eight confluence points combined jiaji electroacupuncture therapy and normal electroacupuncture therapy can effectively improve the pain level of CSR patients and neck disability. The eight confluence points combined jiaji electroacupuncture therapy is superier to the normal electroacupuncture therapy.
