The Research On Influences Of Quality Of Life In Patients With Diarrhea Type Irritable Bowel Syndrome Treated By Naval Moxibustion With Herbal Medicine In Different Quantities

Objective:This experiment through observe the different influences on the clinical symptoms and the QOL of patients with IBS-D treated by Umbilical moxibustion with herbal medicine in Different Quantities,To explore appropriate amount of moxibustion in the treatment of patients.Methods:60 patients with IBS-D( spleen deficiency type)were selected and divided randomly into three groups, 20 in each group.And each group was treated by Umbilical moxibustion with herbal medicine in Different Quantities. The scores of spleen deficiency symptoms and QOL were observed before treatment and the after treatment.Results:After treatment, there were differences between Q1、Q2、Q3、Q6、Q8 in the A group and 8 dimensions of scale scores were different in the other two groups by IBSQOL.Comparisons between groups of B and A revealed that there were differences on Q1、Q2、Q3、Q6、Q7and Q8,and there were differences on Q1、Q2、Q3、Q6 and Q8 between group C and group A.Between group B and group C,the difference only performed in Q3.There were differences empressed in A group on all of the spleen deficiency and Diarrhe symptoms except loss of appetite.But in group B and group C,the differences consist in all of the symptoms. After treatment, there were statistical differences on abdominal pain abdominal distension、diarrhea、loss of appetite、exhausting and sallow between group Band group A.And there were also statistical differences on abdominal pain、abdominal distension、diarrhea、exhausting and sallow between group C and group A. But there was no significant difference between group B and group C.Conclusion:Umbilical moxibustion with herbal medicine could improve the QOL and eliminate the clinical symptoms of the patients;Group B(1.0g) and groupC(1.5g)had better effects than group A(0.5g),but Group B(1.0g) has the same effect as group C(1.5g).
