Objective: We conducted a retrospective review of data from 523 patients who underwent transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy. Infectious complications, risk factors and treatment measures were analysised. Methods and materials: We collected from December 2012 to December 2015 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Department of Urology, patients underwent prostate biopsy under transrectal ultrasound guided clinical data, including age, diabetes, PSA, digital rectal examination, preoperative antibiotic prophylaxis, puncture mode, the number of needle puncture, biopsy, etc., using statistical software to analyze the correlation factors and postoperative infectious complications puncture indications: PSA>4.0ng/ml; digital rectal examinationpositive;prostate imaging examinations showed prostate lesions. Patients age, BMI, diabetes mellitus, t-PSA,number of needle, prostate volume, infection, bleeding, urinary retention and pain were collected. We used logistic regression to evaluate the association between each variable and infection. Results:All 523 cases of transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy patients, 43 patients had infection symptoms, 82 patients had hemorrhage, 7 patients had urinary retention and 7 patients had pain after puncture. All infection patients were cured by antibiotics. BMI, diabetes mellitus, indwelling catheterwere independentpredictors of infection rates(P<0.05). A total of 85 blood/urine specimensended tobacterial culture,80 of them were active bacterial cultivation. Escherichia coli accounted for 90%,Klebsiella pneumonia accounted for 7.5%, and Bacteroides fragilis accounted for2.5%. 66.3% bacteria were quinolone resistance. Conclusion BMI, diabetes mellitus, indwelling catheter may significantly improved infection rates. Escherichia coli were the main pathogenic bacteria and more than half of bacteria were quinolones resistance?...
