Objective To measure the health-related quality of life(HRQOL) of survivors of NonHodgkin’s lymphoma and to investigate the differences in HRQOL with respect to social and medical characteristics. Methods We use general measurement SF-36 and cancer-specific measurement to measured NHL survivors’ HRQOL,with higher scores reflecting better HRQOL. A two-sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) were used to compare the differences in HRQOL at a 5% level of significance. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to find the relationship of the different factors among the domains of SF-36 and FACT-F.Results 1. Using the eligibility criteria, 110 patients were deemed eligible for the study.Of these pati ents 69 were men and 41 were women. The median age of study participants was 45 years,me dian follow-up time was 3.5 months and median courses of chemotherapy were 3.5.Patients of B-NHL were 86,T-NHL were 24.Patients who were treated with rituximab were 56. 2.In the SF-36 scale,(1)PCS and RE: Men has high scores comparing to women.Courses of chemotherapy more than 3 times were better than those less than or equal to three times.(2)MCS and GH:Men has high scores comparing to women.Patients with career were better than those without career.(3)TS: Men has high scores comparing to women.Courses of chemotherapy more than 3 times were better than those less than or equal to three times.Patients with career were better than those without career. PF: Courses of chemotherapy more than 3 times were better than those less than or equal to t hree times. The patients of B-NHL were superior to T-NHL.(4)PF: Courses of chemotherapy more than 3 times were better than those less than or equal to three times. The patients of B-NHL were superior to T-NHL.(5)RP: Courses of chemotherapy more than 3 times were better than those less than or equal to three times.(6)VT: Patients with career were better than those without career.(7)MH: Men has high scores comparing to women.Non-agricultural household register patients were better than that of the rural household registration.(8)SF and BP: There was no significant difference between patients with NHL. 3.In the FACIT-F scale,(1)PWB and global HRQOL: Men has high scores comparing to women.Patients with hig h levels of annual income were better than that of low and middle income earners.(2)EWB: Men has high scores comparing to women.Non-agricultural household register patients were better than that of the rural household registration.(3)FWB: Patients with high levels of annual income were better than that of low and middle income earners.(4)SWB and FS: There was no significant difference between patients with NHL.Conclusions Patients who were men, having high level annual income and a professional reported better HRQOL than patients who were women, having low and middle annual income, having not a aprofessional. The MH and EWB of non-agricultural household register patients were better than that of the rural household registration. Above has significantly statistical differences.SF-36 scale and FACIT-F scale has a good correlation, and HRQOL could become one of the evaluation index of NHL patients clinical outcomes.
