Objecive:The peri-implantitis is the biggest challenge on the implant technology of it's application and popularity, the traditional mechanical treatment of peri-implantitis have certain limitations, currently the laser technology is a more commonly used as a complementary or alternative way in treatment of peri-implantitis, this study used a systematic review and meta-analysis methods to investigate the clinical effects oflaser and traditionaltreatment of peri-implantitis,in orderto provide help and guidance for future work in the clinical treatment of peri-implantitis. Method:Use computer searched the literature of the treatment and traditional on the treatment of peri-implantitis published in the Pubmed, Cochrane Library, EMbase, Web of science, CNKI, Wanfang data, VIP and CBM Database up to February 2016, the income literature by the laser as alternative or adjuvant were divided into two subgroups, and the study included a rigorous quality assessment and data extraction and analysis of each literature. This study mainly analyses the probing depth, clinical attachment loss level and gingival recession three clinical indicators and statistical analysis was performed with Revman 5.3. Results:There were six literatures included finally, a total of 129 patients, 303 implants, Laser Group: 191 implants, Control group: 112 implants. Meta-analysis showed:(1) laser group in probing depth results vervs the control group, the result is[MD=-0.01,95% CI(-0.19,0.17), P=0.93], the difference was not statistically significant;(2) in clinical attachment level there were no significant difference in the laser group and control, the result is [MD=0.12,95% CI(-0.07,0.32), P=0.22],(3)in gingival recession there were no significant difference in the laser group and control too, the result is[MD=0.02,95% CI(-0.12,0.17), P=0.76],this can be considered that the laser is not significantly different from the traditional mechanical methods in the three clinical parameters. Conclusion:Laser treatment in the peri-implantitis,it effects obviously, safety and no side effect diseases, but it did not show obviously advantages in comparison with traditional mechanical. In future,it's potential advantages in the promotion of soft tissues healing and effectively remove plaque should not be neglect, and laser treatment compared with the traditional mechanical treatment are more likely to be accepted, but also should pay attention to the increase of the treatment cost.Peri-implantitis treatment efficacy of laser therapy should to be more high-quality trials to study.
