Objective To evaluate renal function by CKD-EPI and abbreviated MDRD equations in the elderly hypertension.Method 427 patients with hypertension(hypertension group) and 526 patients without high risk factors for kidney damage(control group) were enrolled, according to age in three groups:<60-year-old group(n=164),60 to 74-year-old group(n=428) and ?75-year-old group(n=361).Difference of renal function between hypertension group and control group were compared by e GFR of CKD-EPI and abbreviated MDRD equations in different age groups. The agreement between two equations in different age groups(<60-year-old,60 to 74-year-old and ?75-year-old) and CKD stages(<60ml*min-1*1.73m-2,60 to 90ml*min-1*1.73m-2 and ?90ml*min-1*1.73m-2) were analysed by the Bland-Altman.Results From <60-year-old group and 60 to 74-year-old group to ?75-year-old group, both c-e GFR and m-e GFR of hypertension group and control group had decreased(both P<0.01).And it was lower that c-e GFR and m-e GFR of hypertension group than control group in different age groups, just c-e GFR in ?75-year-old group and 60 to 74-year-old group and m-e GFR in ?75-year-old group, there was difference(P<0.05,P<0.01,P < 0.05).More importantly, the agreement between CKD-EPI and abbreviated MDRD equations was the best in ?75-year-old group and e GFR<60ml*min-1*1.73m-2 group. Conclusions The agreement between CKD-EPI and abbreviated MDRD equations was better in the population of advanced age or renal hypofunction. Another, aging and hypertension were important risk factors for renal hypofunction.
