Objective At present, the cause of disease of heart head blood-vessel of atherosclerosis become higher disease mortality.Among them, the unstable atherosclerotic plaque rupture caused by blocked arteries, leading to cerebral apoplexy and myocardial infarction, is urgent needs to solve clinical problems.Carotid atherosclerosis is a significant risk factor for ischemic cerebrovascular disease [1], especially exists in the carotid artery atheromatous plaque to predict the risk of death than carotid artery stenosis degree more meaningful. The occurrence of cerebral infarction and carotid atherosclerosis plaque is closely related to the composition and lesion characteristics of[2]. Various imaging techniques on atherosclerotic plaque morphological characteristics and biological characteristics of the application of evaluation is different also. This study used color doppler ultrasound(color doppler ultrasound, CDUS) and computer tomography angiography(computer tomography angiography, CTA) of common carotid artery(CCA), internal carotid artery(ICA), external carotid artery(ECA) the number of lesions,atheromatous plaque characteristics were analyzed, CDUS and CTA of carotid stenosis and atherosclerotic plaque lesions imaging characteristics evaluation ability,thus providing more reliable for clinical diagnostic information.Material and Method Randomly selected from the department of neurology clinic of40 cases in patients with suspected ischemic cerebrovascular disease and carries on the carotid CDUS and CTA examination in our hospital.15 cases were 25 cases of men, women, mean age 64.46 + /- 9.66 years old.The 80 CCA, ICA, ECA's blood vessels.The common carotid artery segments to split from the common carotid artery department department;Internal carotid artery segments from the starting to the cavernous sinus department;Segmented by the beginning of external carotid artery to split more than 2 cm.Selected patients were no iodine allergy.CDUS application PHILIPS Iu22 and samsung RS80 A color doppler ultrasonic diagnostic instrument,using high-frequency linear array probe(frequency 3-9 MHZ), by inspectors in the supine position, to expose the neck, head to the side at the time of their examination.Conventional detecting carotid artery, internal carotid artery and external carotid artery.For internal carotid artery fully check until the cranial display is not clear. And record the number of patches, location, shape, characteristics of the echo.Classify plaques. CTA inspection method Dutch philips company offerings 64 nm detector row CT scanner.According to the CT value classifying plaques, record the number and distribution situation of plaques.Results In 80 CCA, CDUS were detected with calcified plaques, soft plaque, mixed plaque, 159, 77, 99;CTA check out these three kinds of patches, respectively 155, 75,105.In 80 the ICA, CDUS were detected with calcified plaques, soft plaque, mixed plaque 26, 4, 7;CTA check out these three kinds of patches, respectively, 70, 32, 26.In 80 the ECA, CDUS were detected with calcified plaques, soft plaque, mixed plaque 12, 3, 5;CTA check out these three kinds of patches was 13, 6, 7,respectively.Four table chi-square test, according to the results of two methods using the CDUS and CTA in the check out the number of all kinds of internal carotid artery plaque on the obvious difference(P < 0.01), while in the ECA, CCA has no obvious difference in the number of plaques detection.In addition in 80 CCA team, CDUS detected 87 cases of plaque surface is not smooth, 14 cases of ulcer, 77 cases of soft plaque.Soft plaques for 75 and CTA monitoring, CDUS detection of carotid vulnerable plaques are significantly higher than the number of CTA(chi-square =67.374, P < 0.001).Conclusion In the remote detection of carotid plaques, especially on the internal carotid artery, CTA can be used as the preferred method.CDUS can assess the smoothness on the surface of the plaque and the presence of ulcer and so on,especially in the common carotid artery, compared with the CTA, CDUS can clear characteristics of unstable plaque, for clinical discovery provides important basis for vulnerable plaques.Anyhow, CTA and CDUS application in detection of carotid atherosclerotic plaques on each have advantages and disadvantages, only by combined use of complementary length, to make an accurate evaluation of cerebrovascular outside for clinical prediction and preventive measures, provide powerful basis for early intervention.
