Objective:1.To study the changes of volume,thickness and basal area of carotid artery hypoechoic plaque after taking atorvastatin calcium tablets.2.To study the changes of lumen stenosis in carotid artery hypoechoic plaque after taking atorvastatin calcium tablets.Method:The subjects were 52 patients with hypoechoic plaque of carotid artery diagnosed by ultrasound department of a tertiary first-class hospital from September 2017 to December 2017.Among them,34 were males and 18 were females.The oldest was 79 years old,the youngest was 42 years old,with an average age of 60.8 years.Before and after taking atorvastatin calcium tablets(12 months),the patients were examined by Toshiba Aplio 500 color Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instrument combined with 3D ultrasound image acquisition system as follows:(1)3D carotid ultrasound to obtain data of carotid artery hypoechoic plaque volume,thickness and basal area;(2)Color Doppler examination was performed to evaluate the stenosis of the carotid artery by measuring peak systolic velocity(PSV)and end diastolic velocity(EDV)where the carotid artery hypoechoic plaque was located.SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze whether the volume,thickness,basal area and stenosis degree of carotid hypoechoic plaque were improved after treatment,and to explore the therapeutic effect of atorvastatin calcium tablets on carotid hypoechoic plaque.Results:After treatment,the volume of hypoechoic plaque in carotid artery was(1154.41±384.05)mm3,which was lower than that before treatment(1209.65 ±399.25)mm3,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the thickness of hypoechoic plaque in carotid artery was(3.60 ±1.28)mm,which was lower than that before treatment(3.86±1.36)mm,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the basal area of hypoechoic plaque in carotid artery was(230.95±201.39)mm2,which was lower than that before treatment(264.28±239.17)mm2,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the degree of carotid stenosis at the location of carotid hypoechoic plaque before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Atorvastatin calcium tablets are effective in the treatment of carotid hypoechoic plaques.Long-term administration can significantly reduce the volume,thickness and basal area of plaques.2.Atorvastatin calcium tablets had no significant effect on improving the degree of stenosis in carotid artery hypoechoic plaques.3.3D carotid ultrasound combined with conventional ultrasound can objectively observe the changes of carotid artery hypoechoic plaque.
