Objective To explore the factors related to the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in local patients with breast cancer, and try to find a better predictive factor, so as to guide the patients to adopt more individualized treatment. Methods We collected the clinical and pathological data of patients with breast cancer who were treated in the Cancer Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2011 to December 2014.To evaluate the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in each case by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors.Statistical analysis using SPSS19.0 statistical software, single factor analysis using chi square test to find the factors that affect the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Results In 85 patients: 27 cases of SD(31.8%), 3 cases of PD(3.5%), 28 cases of PR(32.9%), 27 cases of CR(31.8%), including 22 cases of pCR. The difference of chemotherapy regimens between the group of different neoadjuvant chemotherapy was statistically significant(p=0.02). BMI < 24 group effective rate was 84.6%, BMI ≥ 24 groups with efficiency of 55.9%, difference between the two(P = 0.028), the curative effect of chemotherapy of former was obviously higher than the latter. There was no difference in the response of menopause, nationality and axillary lymph nodes to chemotherapy. Different molecular subtypes curative effect:the luminal a subtype is 37.5% efficiency, the luminal B effective rate of 59.5% and over expression of HER-2 effective rate was 94.7%, triple negative effective rate of 50%, different molecular subtypes of chemotherapy have difference(P = 0.011), HER-2 over expression type chemotherapy curative effect is the best. Tumor grade and estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor(PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER-2), epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR), cytokeratin protein5/6(CK5/6), nuclear protein, Ki-67, P glycoprotein(p170), DNA topoisomerase II(ToPoⅡ), placental glutathione s transfer enzymes(GST), E-cadherin(E-cad), catenin expression and response to chemotherapy had no significant difference. Conclusion 1.BMI is one of the factors that predict the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. The patients with normal body weight or low weight are better than those who are overweight or obese. 2.Chemotherapy is one of the factors that predict the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer. The combination of paclitaxel and paclitaxel is better than other chemotherapy regimens.3. Molecular subtypes of breast cancer are also a factor in predicting the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer, in which Her-2 overexpression is the best.
