Objective:In this study, we treat spinal cord injury (SCI) patients as carriers and establish healthy subjects as controls,to explore the influence of the Brain excitability by Functional Connectivity Network of FOur-dimensional (spatio-temporal) Consistency of local neural Activities (FOCA) involved in acupuncture on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) for SCI, which can provide more sufficient basis for acupuncture used in the treatment of SCI in clinical rehabilitation.Methods:1. There are five patients with SCI and five healthy subjects as the research object, accepting the resting-state fMRI scans, then analysing the results of FOCA for the whole brain and comparing the brain excitability changes with the analysis methods.2. There are five patients with SCI and five healthy subjects as the research object receiving treatment of acupuncturing on the motor point of the right tibials anterior muscle on the occation of task state fMRI. Then try to analyse the results of FOCA for the whole brain and comparing the brain excitability changes with the FOCA analysis methods.Results:1. Compared with the healthy subjects, the decreased functional connectivity of patients with SCI in FOCA with the whole brain are right angular gyrus ? right precuneus?right thalamus ??left cerebellum outer edge ??bilateral vermis cerebelli I?bilateral inferior pariental lobule?right vermis cerebelli ??right hyppocampals suleus I (P<0.001,cluster>10).2. Acupuncturing on the motor point of the right tibials anterior muscle on the occation of task state fMRI,compared with the healthy subjects, the increased functional connectivity of patients with SCI in FOCA beyong the whole brain are right supplementary motor area?left inferior pariental lobule; and the decreased functional connectivity with the whole brain are right superior limbic lobe? right central cingulated.(P<0.001,cluster>10).Conclusions:1. It will be happened that SCI may stimulate abnormal brain cortical excitability, which may result from Brain plasticity after SCI.2. Acupuncturing on motor point can improve and adjust the motor and sense function of SCI,it may be associated with the restimulating and adjustment to the related brain area, in the other way, it attempts to reverse the abnormal excitability of the cortex.
