Objective: To investigate the influence of serum uric acid to coronary artery stenosis and hazard in elderly patients with coronary heart disease.Method: One hundred and thirty-seven elderly patients with coronary heart disease were divided into four groups according to quartile of serum uric acid level, namely, first quartile(n= 34),second quartile(n = 34),third quartile(n = 35),and fourth quartile(n = 34)group.Coronary arteriography was performed and the level of coronary artery stenosis was evaluated using Gensini scorning system in all patients.Result: 1)The Gensini scores of overall coronary artery and right coronary artery were significant higher in fourth quartile group than infirst quartile group(60.15 ± 8.78 vs53.73 ± 6.04,12.03 ± 3.12 vs 6.44 ± 1.52,P < 0.05).2)The Gensini scores of left circumflex branch was significantly higher in fourth quartile group than in second quartile group and third quartile group(P < 0.05).3)The Gensini scores of right coronary artery was significantly higher in third quartile group than in infirst quartile group(P < 0.05).4)The Gensini score of left circumflex branch was significantly lower in second quartile group than in infirst quartile group(P < 0.05).Conclusion: 1.The level of serum uric acid is significantly related to overall coronary artery and right coronary artery lesion in elder patients with coronary heart disease.2.Uric acid was an independent risk factor for Gensini score of overall coronary artery and right coronary artery lesion in elder patients with coronary heart disease.
