The Expression And Clinical Significance Of DJ-1 Protein In Chronic Sinusitis And Nasal Polyps Tissue

Objective: We will plan to enlarge sample size to study the qualitative and quantitive expression of nasal mucosa protective DJ-1 protein in CRSsNP and CRSwNP and refractory chronic rhinosinusitis by use of immunohistochemisty test,in order to explore the use of DJ-1 protein in pathogenesy,turnover and prognosis of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps,and in order to explore the correlation between PACAP protein and Chinese medicaltype of syndrome of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.Methods: 70 chronic sinusitis,53 nasal polyps,28 refractory chronic rhinosinusitis and 20 control cases were chosen.All samples were stained with SP immunohistochemical method to examine DJ-1protein.In addition,on the basis of medical history,medical examination,Chinese medical watch,smell,question,palpation and pulse-feeling,we make the zheng differentiation-classification of the patient.And the positive intensity of DJ-1 protein were linked with Chinese medical type of syndrome by statistics to explore the correlation between Chinese medical type of syndrome and positive intensity of DJ-1protein.Results:(1)we found the DJ-1 protein were expressed in nasal epithelium mucosae,glandular epithelium and goblet cells;(2)We calculated that the positive intensity of DJ-1 protein among chronic sinusitis,nasal polyps,refractory chronic rhinosinusitis and normal nasal mucosa was different significantly(X2=148.002,p﹤ 0.01).The positive intensity of chronic sinusitis was mainly “+++”,the positive intensity of nasal polyps was mainly “+”,the positive intensity of refractory chronic rhinosinusitis was mainly “-~ +”,and the positive intensity of normal nasal mucosa was mainly “++”;(3)Chinese medical type of syndrome of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps and positive intensity of DJ-1 protein were not correlative conspicuously.Conclusion: DJ-1 protein was important ingredient of the innate defense mechanism of nasal mucosa.DJ-1 protein expressed mostly inchronic sinusitis tissue but less in nasal polyps.This declared that chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps are two independent relatively diseases or different development stages of the same disease.The different expression of DJ-1 protein play a role in the pathogenesy and prognosis of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.The positive intensity of DJ-1 protein and Chinese medical type of syndrome were not correlated apparently.The reason may be that chinese medical diagnose is subjective relatively or the samples were small.
