Randomized Controlled Trails On The Bloodletting Therapy Of Clear Away Heat And Removing Blood Stagnation For Postherpetic Neuralgia In Which Blood Stagnated In Energy Meridians

Objective: In order to prove the treatment effect of postherpetic neuralgia in which blood stagnated in energy meridians,randomized controlled trails was conducted to observe and compare the effect of the bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood Stagnation(bloodletting at affected area(Aishi acupoint)and Dazhui,Weizhong acupoints)and Oral Medicine of Pregabalin and Me Cobalamin Tablets.The results obviously proves the high cure rate and reliabilities of the bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation for postherpetic neuralgia in which blood stagnated in energy meridians.Methods: 60 patients were randomly divided into two groups(treatment group and control group,each group with 30 patients).The bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation was conducted for the treatment group(bloodletting at affected area(Aishi acupoint)at every Monday,Wednesday and Friday,and at Dazhui,Weizhong acupoints every Tuesday and Thurday)for 2sessions.Each session lasted for one week,in which treatment was conducted for 5days,then rest for 2 days.For the control group,Pregabalin and Mecobalamin was orally took every day for 14 days consistently,taking Pregabalin 150mg/bid,and Methylcobalamin 0.5mg/Tid.The dose abided by the doctor’s advice strictly,patients was not able to change oral dose.(1).Both groups conducted VAS to assess the pain score,Mc Gill pain syndrome score evaluation to assess pain syndrome score,and QS to assess the sleep quality separately at the beginning of the treatment,in the middle of the treatment(at the end of first session and at the beginning of the second session),and at the end of treatment(at the next day which all treatment was finished.)(2)Both groups conducted side effect assessment at the beginning of the treatment,and at the end of treatment to observe the side effect of both groups,toevaluate the overall curative effect,effect-acting period,cure rate and side effect of the bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation for postherpetic neuralgia in which blood stagnated in Energy Meridians.Results:(1)VAS score comparison: in the middle of treatment of the two groups(after the first session),there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).At the end of treatment of two groups,there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).The bloodletting group preceded the drug group at relieving patients’ pain,and at effect time,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.(2)QS sleep quality score comparison: in the middle of treatment of the two groups(after the first session),there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).At the end of treatment of two groups,there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).The bloodletting group preceded the drug group at improving patients’ bad sleeping which was caused by the pain,and at effect time,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.(3)Mc Gill pain score: in the middle of treatment of the two groups(after the first session),there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).At the end of treatment of two groups,there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).The bloodletting group preceded the drug group at relieving patients’ syndromic pain,and at effect time,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.(4)side effects scale(TESS)score: at the end of the treatment of two groups,side effect at different degree occurred in the drug group,in which 11 patients suffered from gastrointestinal symptoms,such as constipation,loss of appetite and anorexia,accounting for 37% for all patients.(5)curative effect comparison: at the end of the treatment,there was significant difference between the bloodletting group and the drug group(P<0.05).The cure rateof bloodletting group was 90%,and the cure rate of drug group was 30%,according to which the bloodletting group highly excelled the drug group.Conclusion: 1.The bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation preceded the drug group in relieving patients’ pain and at effect-acting period,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.2.The bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation preceded the drug group in improving patients’ sleeping quality and at effect-acting period,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.3.The bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation preceded the drug group in relieving patients’ syndromic pain and at effect-acting period,and furthermore the precedence was getting increasingly obvious in the treatment process.4.The bloodletting therapy of cear away heat and removing blood stagnation for postherpetic neuralgia in which blood stagnated in energy meridians preceded the drug group obviously at cure rate.5.No side effect was observed after the bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation;and side effect as digestive system disorder,subjective nervous system disorder,and objective symptoms of blood,urine,defecate,liver and kidney abnormalities were observed in drug group after treatment.6 The bloodletting therapy of clear away heat and removing blood stagnation choose Dazhui,Weizhong and affected area(Aishi acupoint)as the main acupoints to treat postherpetic neuralgia in which blood stagnated in energy meridians took effect quickly and effectively,and the precedence became increasingly obvious in the treatment process,which was proved as a simple,reliable,effective and high cure rate treatment.
