Objective: To evaluate the efficiency and security of interventional therapy for transcatheter closure of large atrial septal defect. Methods: Fifty patients with large ASD were treated by transcatheter closure of ASD with Amplater occluder device.TTE?ECG and et al,were done 24-hour,6-month after interventional therepy to evaluate the efficiency. Results: The mean diameter of ASD was 31.56 ± 1.55 mm showed by transthoracic echocardiography before interventions. The success rate of placement of Amplatzer occluder was 100%.The rate of complication was 10%(5/50).Residual shunts were found in 1 case(2.0%).Border area tachycardic were found in 2 cases(4.0%).Hemorrhages in the puncture site were found in 2 cases(4.0%).The mean of LVEDD and the mean of LVESD increased significantly compared with pre-treatment.A 25~50-month follow-up was completed in fifty patients and no shifting ? hydropericardium ?atriventricular block et,al.Conclusion: The interventional therapy for transcatheter closure of large atrial septal defect is effective, secure, feasible and with few complications.
