Background:The aim of the work was to analyze the impact of selected factors on the incidence of seroma formation in breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy with one week.Found the change law of the Subcutaneous fluid accumulation after mastectomy. Methods:One hundred and eighty breast cancer patients were enrolled in the study. All patients had mastectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy(SLNB)or mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection(ALND)performed with electrocoagulation.twenty-four of these patients prospectively were attended. The amount of seroma formed after surgery and its duration were correlated with selected demographic, clinical and pathological parameters. Results:The cumulative total seroma volume collected by one week of treatment was higher in patients were taked by mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection(ALND)(p<0.001).and also over the age of 60 years get the more cumulative total seroma volume(SLNB:p=0.019;ALND:p=0.004).The cumulative total seroma volume collected by one week of treatment was higher in obese or overweight patients(SLNB:p=0.019;ALND:p=0.004).The cumulative total seroma volume collected by one week of treatment was higher in patients who had over 150 ml of lymph drained during the first 24 postoperative hours(SLNB:p<0.001).Additionally,more cumulative total seroma volume collected by one week of treatment was observed in patients with over 80min duration of the operation time(SLNBp=0.001)and in patients with?4 sentinel lymph node(SLNBp=0.039).patients had mastectomy with axillary lymph node dissection(ALND),over 250ml of lymph drained during the first 24 postoperative hours(ALND:p=0.025)and dissection of<16 axillary lymph node(ALND:p<0.001)was observed more cumulative total seroma volume collected by one week of treatment.Logistic regression showed that age, operation time,BMI,lymph node number were significantly correlated with postoperative drainage seroma volume(SLNB:OR=3.36,4.92,all p<0.050;ALND:OR =5.354,0.139,all p<0.050;),Conclusion:Age,obesity,operation time, lymph node number are important prognostic factors influencing seroma formation in breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy. The amount of lymph formed during one week postoperative day may have predictive value in assessing cumulative total seroma volume collected during treatment and its overall duration.
