| Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of dendritic cell-based vaccine treatment for glioma objectively and systematically,a meta-analysis was conducted. Methods:A systematic literature search of Pub Med/Medline,the Web of Science, the Cochrane Library and the Google scholar were performed to recruit studies up to May 2016 that evaluated the correlation of dendritic cell-based vaccine treatment with overall survival(OS)and progressionfree survival(PFS)in glioma patients.A meta-analysis(R-3.1.3)was conducted to evaluate the prognostic significance. Results:A total of 6 studies with the total number of 328 patients met the inclusion criteria. The analysis demonstrated that dendritic cell-based vaccine treatment for glioma can improve OS(overall survival)(P<0.05)but not PFS(progression free survival)(P>0.05).According to available data at present,DC vaccine dose not present obvi ous side-effects.Conclusion:The present study indicates that dendritic cell-based vaccine treatment is a powerful treatment for glioma and can improve prognosis of glioma patients. |
