Objective: To investigate the expression of squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC-Ag)in the patients with Uyghur oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods: Collection of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region people's Hospital of maxillofacial surgery hospitalized cases 401 cases, divided into four groups based on clinical and pathological diagnosis,90 cases of OSCC group(Uyghur patients with OSCC),90 cases of other oral malignant tumor group(Uyghur patients with other oral malignant tumors),101 cases of benign tumor group(Uyghur patients with oral benign tumors),120 cases of healthy group(Uyghur healthy people). The serum SCC-Ag concentrations from all of the subjects were detected by chemiluminescence method. With testing the level of SCC-Ag for 60 cases of OSCC and 60 cases of other malignant tumors before and after the treatment, and analysising of SCC-Ag its significance in diagnosis, treatment efficacy of oral squamous carcinoma. Results: The level of SCC-Ag in the group of OSCC was significantly higher than that in the group of other malignant tumor(P=0.002),benign tumor group(P=0.001)and normal group(P=0.001).OSCC patients serum SCC-Ag positive rate was 43.3%(39/90),significantly higher than the other three groups(P= 0.0001).Serum SCC-Ag levels were positively correlated with the depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, and distant metastasis in OSCC patients(P<0.05).Recurrence group and non recurrence group of preoperative and postoperative recurrence, radiation and chemotherapy after compared levels of SCC-Ag,the difference had statistical significance(P<0.05).Squamous carcinoma before and after surgery and radiation and chemotherapy in patients with changes in serum levels of SCC-Ag was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion: Serum SCC-Ag has an important clinical significance in evaluating the therapeutic efficacy and predicting tumor recurrence in Uyghur OSCC patients.
