Objective To explore the application value of inner ear vestibule endolymphatic volume measurement in Meniere's disease. Methods 24 hours after intratympanic gadolinium administration through the tympanic membrane,20 patients with Meniere's disease diagnosed clinically performed MRI examination. The inner ear vestibule endolymphatic volume was measured. There were 10 preoperative patients including 7 unilateral Meniere's disease patients and 3 bilateral Meniere's disease patients. There were10 patients with semicircular canal plugging for treatment including 8 unilateral Meniere's disease patients and 2 bilateral Meniere's disease patients.Paired t-test was performed to compare the vestibule endolymphatic volume of affected side and healthy side of unilateral Meniere's disease preoperative patients.Paired t-test was performed to compare the vestibule endolymphatic volume of postoperative side and healthy side of unilateral Meniere's disease postoperative patients. The vestibule endolymphatic volume of the affected side of preoperative patients and the postoperative side of postoperative patients was evaluated using independent-samples t-test.Results The vestibule endolymphatic volume of 7 unilateral Meniere's disease preoperative patients were(11.67±3.63)mm3 and(7.99±2.69)mm3 for the affected side and healthy side. The vestibule endolymphatic volume of 8unilateral Meniere's disease postoperative patients were(7.54±2.55)mm3 and(7.41±2.00)mm3 for the postoperative side and healthy side. The vestibule endolymphatic volume of the affected side of 10 preoperative patients and the postoperative side of 10 postoperative patients were(10.93±3.14)mm3 and(7.46±2.26)mm3.The vestibule endolymphatic volume between affected side and healthy side in unilateral Meniere's disease preoperative patients were statistical significance(P<0.05).The vestibule endolymphatic volume between affected side of preoperative patients and postoperative side of postoperative patients were statistically significant(P<0.05).The vestibule endolymphatic volume between postoperative side and healthy side in unilateral Meniere's disease postoperative patients were no statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusions Inner ear vestibule endolymphatic volume measurement may provide radiographic reference for the diagnosis of Meniere's disease. It also may provide useful information for therapeutic effect evaluation of Meniere's disease.
