Research On The Relationships Among The Ulcerative Colitis Serum TNF-? Level And The Degree Of The Lesion,and The Syndrome Type Of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Objectives: Through observation of the serum level of TNF-? in ulcerative colitis patients,to understand its correlation with the degree of pathological changes,to explore its relevance to the inherent law of TCM syndrome type so they can provide an objective basis for Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment.Methods: 100 ulcerative colitis patients,according to western diagnostic criteria,were classified into mild,moderate and severe groups,and according to the guide of TCM diagnosis and treatment of ulcerative colitis,into the large intestinal damp-heat syndrome,pixushiyun syndrome,and liver spleen deficiency syndrome.The normal population is also established.Through the observation and comparison of the serum level of TNF-? in different groups,to conduct associated statistical calculation.Results: The serum level of TNF-? in 100 patients with ulcerative colitis were higher than that in normal population.The serum level of TNF-?,in western medicine groups,severe > moderate > mild,and in TCM groups,large intestinal damp-heat syndrome > liver spleen deficiency syndrome>wet aggregates spleen deficient syndrome.Conclusion: The serum level of TNF-? were significantly higher in ulcerative colitis patients,which is proportional to the degree of the pathological changes.It has certain relevance with regard to the TCM syndrome type,which provides theoretical guidance for Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment.
