Objective:By comparing the sensitivity and typing accuracy of contrast enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)and contrast enhanced CT(CECT)in portal vein tumor thrombus(PVTT),and contrasting the differences in the selection of adjuvant therapy options for PVTT,to explore the imaging significance of CEUS for PVTT.Methods:Clinical and imaging data of 34 patients with PVTT confirmed by postoperative pathology were retrospectively analyzed in Guangxi Medical University Affiliated Tumor Hospital.Based on the clinical pathology classification,we classified PVTT according to CEUS,CECT on the description of it.Results:The sensitivity of CEUS and CECT in PVTT were 94.1%,91.2%,respectively,and the difference was not statistically significant between these two methods(P>0.05);the accuracy of these two methods was 93.8%,90.0%,respectively,and the difference was not statistically significant between them,either(P>0.05).CEUS and clinicopathological typing were highly positively correlated(rs=0.960,P<0.05),and there was also a high positive correlation between CEUS and CECT(rs=0.876,P<0.05).For PVTT patients with these three kinds of postoperative adjuvant therapy(transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, chemotherapy, radiotherapy),the difference between different types of PVTT patients were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The sensitivity and accuracy of CEUS are high in the diagnosis of PVTT,and the method is highly consistent with clinicopathological typing, therefore CEUS can be used as an important imaging method for PVTT before treatment;the diagnostic value of CEUS and CECT is similar,so them can be combined to improve the accuracy of PVTT in clinical practice.CEUS classification of PVTT is helpful for postoperative adjuvant therapy.
